Gay Shower at the Office

August 17th, 2009, 7:59 pm by Tara

One of my coworkers is gay. I don’t agree with his lifestyle but hey it’s his life. It’s uncomfortable when he talks about his “life partner.” I listen to him out of respect but sometimes I want to tell him to keep his personal life to himself. I don’t think he really knows how I feel.

Last week he gave all of us at the office an invitation to a party. He gave me the envelope and said “I really would like you to come”. I told him sure I’ll go.

When I got back to my office and opened up the envelope, the only thing I could say was “no way in hell am I going.” He and his “life partner” are having a “gay shower.” The next day I told him I would not attend. Just the thought of hanging with a roomful of gay guys, that’s not what I call a party.

Mike is now pissed that I won’t go. He says that gay couples should be able to have “gay couple parties” just like a traditional bride and groom party. He’s now retaliating against me…bad mouthing me to other associates and even went to our boss about it. My boss is also gay so you know what side he agreed with.

Now Mike has decided to have the party at the office during our lunch hour. My boss approved it and even put up the “gay shower invitation” on our communication board, basically urging all associates to attend. He even suggested that we all bring a some food, letting us know what he plans on bringing.

Now I feel like I HAVE to go. Half of the associates feel the same way. We all fear what our boss might say or do if we don’t attend and bring food and a gift.

Some of the other guys are saying they plan on calling in sick the day of the party. I’d rather go to work and not attend the party.

What would you do?

Boyfriend pays no bills

July 24th, 2009, 7:16 am by Tara

rose-with-money

My boyfriend and I have been living together for a year, dating for 3 years. We both are divorced with children, have full time jobs and make good money. Problem is he’s always broke! He’s financially dependent on me, I pay all the bills, food, gas, etc. I own my own home so we don’t rent. Since I have a newer car, we always use mine.

Most of his money goes to his children. He pays child support like all divorced dads should do. Any time his ex calls she asks for more money and he always gives in to her. So he’s always broke or has little money to help pay our bills. I want to spend and do more with my kids, but my money is tight.

He’s a great boyfriend in every other way and I love him very much. But, I’m getting tired of paying for everything. By the time I pay all the bills, I’m basically broke each month.

Every time I talk to him about it he gets defensive, says he feels bad but he has to take care of his  kids. I suggested he get a second job but he says he can’t because it would take time away from his kids.

I’m feeling desperate and frustrated. Is it wrong for me to feel this way? He’s the sweetest and most loving boyfriend. But fair is fair. My friends and family say I should kick his butt out.  I want to marry him one day but I wonder if he will assume and share financial responsibilites. Is love worth all the financial problems?

Piercings - Turn On or Not

March 12th, 2009, 6:30 pm by Tara

I want to get genital piercings, but I wonder if guys find them sexy. My best friend pierced hers and her boyfriend loves it.  I don’t have a boyfriend right now and I don’t want to ask one of the guys I know.  So I’m asking you…hey guys..are genital piercings a turn on or not? - Rebeka

I dated a girl that had multiple piercings on her body - nipple, belly button and her private area. It didn’t turn me on. We use to fight about it cause I thought they looked awful and trashy. Most of my friends say I’m totally wrong. They think genital piercing is sexy. They’ve even taken their girls to have it done.  Rebeka, this guy doesn’t find it appealing.  Classy ladies don’t do it.

Sexy Nicknames

February 5th, 2009, 10:53 pm by Tara

Sexy Pig.  Poo Face.  Naughty Monster.

These are some of the saucy, rude and unusual nicknames Britons give each other. The Brits obviously prefer using original rather than traditional nicknames.

According to a British newspaper, among the more popular nicknames this year are Sexy Pig, Squidgy and Poo Face, showing that the traditional British self-deprecating humor prevails amongst couples.

Other amusing nicknames include Chubby Cheeks, Nuzzle Buddy, Naughty Monster and Fatty Bum Bum.

Don’t the nicknames bring back memories of Duckface, the name Hugh Grant dubbed Anna Chancellor in Four Weddings and a Funeral?

Here’s the Top 10 funniest love names:

  • Sexy Pig
  • Poo face
  • Sausage
  • Chubby cheeks
  • Monkey boy
  • Naughty monster
  • Munchkin
  • Nuzzle buddy
  • Fatty bum bum
  • Lobster

Boyfriend Jealous over Guy

February 4th, 2009, 9:00 pm by Tara

My girlfriend and I go to UT-Brownsville and we’ve been dating for 6 months. Brinny has a “best friend” who is male. She always talks about him and text him almost everyday. She tells me that they loved each other (before she met me) but never became lovers cuz he’s separated from his wife. Now she says they’re only “friends.”  I don’t know if I believe her. I got pissed last night and told her to stop talking with him. She says it’s not fair since she’s known him longer than me, and that she loves me as a lover…not him. Am i right to get jealous with this guy? Am i not trusting her? Am i wrong to ask her to stop chatting with him?  - DJ

I would be jealous too! Maybe Brinny wants you to be jealous. This may be her way to show her that you care and love her. It’s hard to say. Whether she’s just playing a jealous game with you or not, the problem is their friendship is longer than the time you’ve been hanging with her. If they are only friends then she should introduce you to him.

At this point, I would try to brush it off, and act as if it doesn’t bother you. If you really think it’s a jealous ploy, I wouldn’t play her game. You’ll have no problem finding other ladies on or off campus.

Love Bytes viewers…what do you think? Is Brinny playing a game? Should David keep hanging with her or dump her? David is looking for advice.  Post your comments now - click “Post a Comment”

Boyfriend Gets Ex-Wife Pregnant

January 28th, 2009, 12:34 pm by Tara

I just found out that my boyfriend’s ex-wife is 3 months pregnant and he’s the father. He says his ex came on to him one weekend when he was picking up his son, that one thing lead to another and now she’s pregnant. I’m hurt and angry. Hector and I (both in our late 20’s) have been dating for over a year and we plan on getting married at the end of this year. I’m divorced with 3 kids. He says he loves me and that he has no feelings for his ex. That he made a big mistake, regrets what happened and wants to marry me. His ex says it was all her fault. My gf says I should leave him, that he’s broken my heart and I can’t trust him anymore. I love him and want to be with him, but I don’t know if I can forgive him. I don’t know what to do.

Trust and forgiveness are 2 really big things to consider. He says he made a mistake and she says it’s all her fault. Whatever the truth is…they are both adults and they knew what the consequences could be.

Looking ahead…there’s a new baby coming. If you marry him, the baby will be part of you and your children’s lives every day. Will you be able to accept and love this baby as part of your family?  How will your children react? Will he be faithful to you after you’re married? Are you prepared to deal with other issues surrounding 2nd marriages?
